food items in the refrigerator

We buy anything from the market and immediately put it in the fridge, whether it is fruits or vegetables. But do you know that there are many things that should not be kept in the refrigerator? Let us tell you which items should not be kept in the fridge and why?

Bread

The bread should be eaten in two or three days. But if you want to keep pizza bread, burger bread, etc., then keep them in the freezer, not in the fridge. The bread dries by keeping it in the fridge. Wrapped in plastic and kept in the freezer, it retains its moisture. Before eating, take it out of the freezer and keep it out for a while and then eat it.

Leamon / Oranges
Lemon or oranges contain a lot of citric acid in it, due to which they are not able to tolerate the coolness of the fridge. So that the skin begins to stain and also affects the taste. The juice of these fruits also gets dried by keeping them in the refrigerator.

Potato
Keeping the refrigerator in the refrigerator turns starch into sugar and affects its taste. Potatoes should be kept away from sunlight. For this, find a cool place in the house and keep it out of the plastic bag so that the potato can breathe. A temperature of 45 degrees is best for potatoes.

Tomatoes
If you bring tomatoes from the market and keep it in the fridge, then you make a mistake because tomato is a sun-grown fruit and it needs more water and sunlight. It does not grow properly when the weather is cold. This is why when you keep it in the fridge, it melts quickly.

Banana
You must have noticed that banana also turns black very soon when kept in the fridge and the fruits kept with it either ripen or turn black. This is because ethylene gas comes out of the banana stem, which also cooks the surrounding fruits quickly. To avoid this, plastics can be plastered on the banana stem. This keeps the banana and the fruits around it fresh for a long time.

Apple
If you want to keep the apple in the fridge, wrap it in paper and keep it on the bottom shelf for the fruit vegetable. Do not keep seeded fruits like peaches, plums, and cherries in the refrigerator. At low temperatures, the enzymes present in them are activated and the fruit ripens quickly.

Watermelon
Watermelon and melon must be kept in the fridge after cutting, but do not do so before that. These fruits contain a large number of antioxidants which can spoil when kept in the refrigerator. Shortly before eating cucumber, watermelon and cantaloupe keep in the fridge to cool.

Cucumber
In summer, people like to eat cold cucumber. But for more than two or three days, cucumber does not stick in the fridge. So keep them outside but away from things like bananas and tomatoes as they release ethylene gas and things cook quickly. You can keep a rack in the kitchen for all these fruits so that they do not harm each other.

Onion
Many feel that the reason for keeping onions away from the fridge is simply their smell. Actually, onion-like potato starts spoiling due to moisture. Onion is melted when kept in the fridge. Keep it in a dry and dark place like a potato but do not forget to keep it with potato. The gas released from the potato spoils the onion.

Garlic
Do not keep garlic in the fridge like an onion. This will cause it to sprout and begin to loosen. Garlic and onion can be kept together. Keep in mind that there is no sunlight or too much light on them.

Grapes

Grapes can be stored in the fridge but do not wash. If you wash and keep it in the fridge, it will spoil quickly. Always keep the grapes in the polythene and keep them in the fridge to keep them fresh for longer.
