Situated on the Trikoot hill and built by Rao Jaisal in 1157, this fort is at the top of Jaisalmer's most prominent tourist places. Located in the golden desert of Thar, it is also called Sonar Fort or Golden Fort. It is one of the largest forts in the world and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 40 feet high main entrance of the fort is made of high-quality shisham wood (Rosewood) and inside the fort, we see a glimpse of Rajput splendor. Its entry fee is only Rs. 30 for Indians and Rs. 60 for foreigners. Apart from this, the fee for carrying cameras in the fort is 50 rupees and the fee for carrying a video camera is 150 rupees.
The Jain temples located in the Jaisalmer Fort and built in the Dilwara style are world-renowned for their architecture. These temples are dedicated to Jain Tirthankara Rishabhdev Ji and Shankardev Ji. These are the total number of 4 and all are related to each other. Patwon Ki Haveli
This mansion, constructed in golden yellow color, is a group of 5 Havelis that attracts tourists visiting Jaisalmer. It was built by a very accomplished Patwa merchant for his five sons in the 19th century and took 40 years to build.
This mansion is also known as "Brocade Merchant Mansion". This mansion has about 40 beautiful balconies, pillars, and ceilings constructed with high workmanship. Apart from this, many rare artifacts and paintings are still present today as a symbol of their glory.
Nathmal Ki Haveli
Nathmal Ki Haveli is an ornate architecture in the center of the city Jaisalmer which is otherwise known as the land of the Golden Fort. This mansion originated in the late 19th century. The first floor of the mansion has some beautiful paintings made using 1.5 kg of gold leaf. There are pictures carved on pillars and walls depicting flora, including horses, cattle, and many other things. It is said that the two architects, Elephant and Lulu, started building two different aspects of the building.

Salim Singh Ki-Haveli
Salim Singh's Haveli is a beautiful building in the center of the city of Jaisalmer. It is one of the major tourist attractions built on the remains of an old mansion in the late 19th century. The mansion is about 300 years old.
It is a beautiful mansion famous as the residence of an influential Mehta family of the 17th century is famous for its uniqueness. Jaisalmer Prime Minister Salim Singh started the construction of this mansion, hence it is known by his name.
It was built by Maharaja Maharawal Gadi Singh in the 16th century. It was constructed for the natural conservation of water in the desert region and continues to be used as the main water source of the city. Many varieties of birds are seen here, as well as boat, paddle boat, and boat facilities are available here.
Amar Sagar Lake
It is naturally a picturesque spot adjacent to the Amar Singh Palace and situated at a distance of 8 km from the main city. This palace and lake were built by Maharaval Akhai Singh in the 17th century in honor of Maharaja Amar Singh.
The entire construction of this palace resembles the pattern of the apartment. It is a 5-story building which is famous for its murals. This complex of Amar Sagar Lake and Mahal consists of an old Shiva temple with various ponds and wells. Amar Singh, a great follower of Lord Shiva, built this temple in this complex. Amar Singh Lake is open for tourists from 9 am to 5 pm.
This garden located in the northern part of Jaisalmer on Ramgarh Road is a popular tourist destination. This garden has tableaux of all the predecessors and dignitaries of Jaisalmer. The royal cemetery is also located here. The locations of the various Kshatriyas in the garden are square or hexagonal. The scene of the marriage of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam movie was actually filmed here.
National Park Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer is also a national park bordering the city. It is spread over an area of 3172 square kilometers. A trip through Jeep Safari makes for a different adventure. Some rare birds such as eagle, harrier, falcons, buzzard, Castel, vulture, short-toe eagle, tannie eagle, spotted eagle, lagger falcon, and castell are also found here. Vyas Chhatri is a sunset point, from where you will directly see the fort of Jaisalmer. You can enter Vyas Chhatri from Ramgarh Road, which is in front of the Himmatgarh Palace Hotel. It is located on the northwestern edge city within the Brahmin cemetery, Vyas Chhatri is a symbol of Rajasthani architecture built from sandstone. It was dedicated to the sage Vyasa, the author of the 300,000-long epic Mahabharata, whose fort is situated to the north of the fort. There is no entry fee to go to this chhatri. It is open for tourists from 8 am to 7:30 pm.
Indo-Pak Border Jaisalmer
120 km from Jaisalmer, the India-Pakistan border is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Jaisalmer. The area is located near the Tanot Mata temple and can be visited by prior permission and permits from the Indian military forces. Since ancient times, the region was used by travelers to view and export goods to other countries. Now the area has Border Pillar Number 609 which is located in No Man's Land near the Line of Control on the Indo-Pak border. Only Indians are allowed to go to BP 609 after proper permission from BSF officers.
